Did You Know Marilyn Monroe Used Erno Laszlo Skincare?

The Makeup Museum's video below showcases Marilyn Monroe's skincare 'prescription' - and Erno Laszlo relaunches a 1930s classic, Shake It Tinted Treatment.

Since most of us are still staying home during the Covid-19 crisis, the Makeup Museum is giving us a sneak peek into its ‘beauty artifacts’ on social media — and is currently showcasing Marilyn Monroe’s skincare ‘prescription’ from Dr. Erno Laszlo.

Watch the video below. Dated March 17, 1959, Erno Laszlo’s chief historian and branding officer Patricia Schuffenhauer shows Monroe’s personalized skincare regimen.

One of the products ‘prescribed’ to Monroe was Erno Laszlo’s “Normalizer Shake-It,” a tinted toner treatment — now relaunched as Shake-It, for a limited time. The launch was timed to coincide with the Makeup Museum’s 1950s Makeup in America exhibition Pink Jungle.

The team at Erno Laszlo relaunched the iconic product based on the same ‘clean’ formula from 1930. Shake-It is shown above, right. (The photo of Monroe on the left is via Instagram/MarilynMonroe.)

Packaged in a square bottle, the design pays homage to the product’s original look —  including a custom red wax seal that represents Dr. Laszlo’s “The Angel of Beauty.”

Tune In To the Shake-It Masterclass on Instagram Live Today

Erno Laszlo’s Influencer Manager Adriana Autie and Social Media Manager Stephanie Rosen are going on Instagram Live today at 3 pm EST to talk about the relaunch of the iconic product.

Erno Laszlo’s chief historian and branding officer Patricia Schuffenhauer shows here one of the products prescribed to Marilyn Monroe, the “Normalizer Shake-It,” a tinted toner treatment. Erno Laszlo decided to re-launch the Shake-It this month to celebrate the expected opening of the Makeup Museum. Shake-It is available on Erno Laszlo’s website, and the Makeup Museum will share more history about this iconic product and brand throughout the month as we give you a sneak peek look at the artifacts that comprise the “Pink Jungle” exhibition!
